Academic All-Stars celebrates Joplin students who rank in the top two performance categories (“Advanced” or “Proficient”) on Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests given to students in the spring. School district officials and local community leaders speak at the celebration events, and each All-Star traditionally receives an award certificate, an “Academic All-Stars” t-shirt, a window decal, and other gifts.

This year’s ceremony was held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Joplin High School.
This year, earning this honor for the first time were IAN, TRENT, ASHDEN, MACK, and DOUGLAS.
Receiving the award for the second consecutive year were CHLOE, NATE, and ELIZABETH.
